FEATURE 30DIRECTOR'S CUT #1 2021 SPRING & SUMMER COLLECTION
Four styles coordinated around outerwear, such as jackets and shirts inspired from workwear and tools.
We will deliver the first part of the “DIRECTOR'S CUT” that introduces DESCENDANT's 2021 Spring/Summer collection through the director's daily life.
KEY WEST, inspired by Grandpas generation, is named after the island of Key West, Florida, where the literary great Ernest Hemingway spent his last years. Beige, the key color of DESCENDANT, is the MOOD for the safari look that Hemingway loved, including the design of the four pockets on the front body and the texture of the cotton twill.
SMAW is an abbreviation for Shielded Metal Arc Welding. It is inspired by workwear worn by a friend who is a welder. Details such as the tough cotton duck that protects the body from welding work, and the front fly placket that hides the zipper and buttons, so they do not become damaged are homages to the workwear I love. All incorporated into light outerwear.
One of the classics representing the Descendant Work Uniform, DWU FATIGUE SHIRT, is a wide body shirt jacket using mid-weight twill, giving a firm silhouette. The simple front fly placket with one top button exposed is a detail derived from workwear.
WADER TWILL OVERALL inspired by anglers. The bib on the chest does not have a patch pocket, a hybrid design with simplicity. From DWU = Descendant Work Uniform line.
We will continue the second part of the “DIRECTOR'S CUT” 2021 Spring/Summer collection in the next feature. Please look forward to it.
