Back To School. Singing about Spring. With summers and winters quickly coming and going, it’s difficult to choose what to wear during spring.
This issue’s FEATURE showcases the Harajuku Deck Crew, styled by DESCENDANT.
Cut-and-sewn garments are easy to wear and versatile, but we want people to know that high-gauge knitwear is also appropriate for spring, so we have included it in most of our spring and summer collections. Not only are they breathable, have a lovely drape to them, and are easy to put on and take off, but the texture of the material is what sets them apart from standard cut-and-sewn garments. They have a more mature appearance.
I’ve always liked the way adults roll up their shirt sleeves. Buttons open or closed, bloused or not, shirts can unexpectedly show individuality.
There is a bandana wrapped around his neck. Speaking of bandanas, I recall the polka dot bandana worn by Joe Strummer of The Clash. I used them as masks to protect my face from the dirt while riding, and in my favorite book as a child, “The Father and Son Textbook,” it noted bandanas could be used as a filter to make coffee. They have so many ways to use them, so I always keep one in my back pocket.
A white T-shirt is typically worn underneath a white shirt, but I’m feeling a little rebellious and going with a colored long sleeve. A combination with a crispy white Oxford with teal blue underneath. The classic button-down shirt and the brand color are in keeping with the back-to-school theme.
This set reflects the DESCENDANT brand in a spring/summer tonal color scheme. The artwork on the back shows a parent and baby orca swimming in the bay. The back print tells the story.
As a formal T-shirt, it is available in both short and long sleeves under the name Classic Fit. The sleeves are not in a typical "T" shape but are attached with the arms down, so the silhouette looks neat when worn. The previous long sleeve of the orca parent and baby is attractive with a loose silhouette, but this one is attractive in a fitted silhouette and comes in standard solid colors and slim long sleeves.
The "UNBEATEN by RAIN & WIND" quote is embroidered on the sleeve. I think the most distinctive feature of the shell parka is the hood. When you need a hood, the shell parka really comes into its own, and you grow to love it.
Although it is a traditional setup from the past, this silhouette is DESCENDANT. We would like button-down shirts to become workwear. Ken from raregem, who practices this idea, wears a button-down shirt while working even if it's not considered a work shirt. Harbor Crews also work in white button-down shirts. The ideal stage is wearing a button-down shirt without worrying about getting it dirty while working, so not feeling the need to take it off. Let's consider the stains from work a good encounter.
A teal green shirt is paired with untucked Dickies® work pants. The graphic on the chest pocket is reminiscent of a corporate uniform. We don’t overlook what is labeled as “normal” and although it may have remained the same since the past, we look at it from a different perspective and redefine what “normal” is at DESCENDANT.
