Two GLOVERALLS.

I’ve always liked military-inspired items, but this is the first time I’ve custom-made a duffle coat with GLOVERALL. Based on the military-originated model “MONTY,” we purposely created it without being conscious of its military appearance. However, the duffle coat and watch cap style were intentionally chosen based on the deck crew members who wore them back then.

I've always liked military-inspired items, but this is the first time I've custom-made a duffle coat with GLOVERALL. Based on the military-originated model "MONTY." We didn't intentionally modify it to look like a military item but kept it in the context of a military item by using the classic deck crew style of a duffel coat and watch cap.

I think it would be cool for women to wear the coat loosely. Don't worry about getting it dirty, just say, "I'll use this," grab it, throw it on and go! It's a coat that can be used like a tool, so I think it's best to wear it in a wild and rough style.

The most distinctive feature I modified or costumed this time is the applique on the lower back. The sailing club provided us with used sail fabric, which we cut, sewed and repurposed as the appliques.

The sail is enormous and exposed to wind, so the seams are reinforced with a zigzag stitch to make it sturdy. We also had a sewing machine that could stitch in the same manner provided by the sailing factory. We made a prototype and consulted GLOVERALL in England on how to sew it.

This form of applique pays homage to the flags used on ships. It’s two triangles overlapping, but it also looks like a fish, right? The placement of the applique is also very important and I decided it would be avant-garde, which is not our style, but I thought it would be nice to give it a slightly unique feel. I’ve been putting stickers on skateboard decks for a long time, which may be similar to that feeling.

I think the first duffle coat I wore was from VAN. In my original experience, recalling my childhood memories, the coat was narrow and prickly. This current reiteration has a wide body and is quite loose. Without changing the shape or materials, I added a lining with a large SPY HOP on the inside. By default, it also has a leg strap to prevent the hem from flapping in the wind. I would be happy if both men and women wore this duffle coat.
