DESCENDANT

A collaboration project in which DESCENDANT has produced a capsule collection with NAUTICA and fashion direction provided by our long-time partner, Akio Hasegawa. According to director Tetsu Nishiyama, the initial recognition of the brand was “one of the brands that symbolized hip-hop culture in the '90s,” then “I understood it was actually marine wear as I became familiar with the brand.” From there, we started with graphics inspired by the sails of yachts, which is the royal road of marine sports, a hooded parka accented with zigzag stitches seen in sail sewing, and mock neck hoodies that combine cotton terry with nylon paneling. The lineup includes a rugby shirt with a border pattern in green and teal, a graphic sweatshirt with a ring lifebuoy as its motif, and a plain white cap with the lifebuoy logo embroidered on the front panel. Stay tuned for a capsule collection that incorporates the essence of NAUTICA's traditional marine wear with the design and graphics that symbolize the DESCENDANT's silhouettes.
