DESCENDANT

2023 Autumn & Winter will start with a scenery of winter mountains.

It’s a memory of a ski resort I spent with my family the other winter.

From the very back, I observed the children ski on the Bogen, skiers whisking by quickly beside them, each making their traces in the snow.

Yuji Kamiyama did the graphic. For 2023 Spring & Summer, he created the ocean and a yacht harbor graphic, a series that continues.

We will be screen printing the seasonal graphic and creating 23 limited edition posters.

I was greatly influenced in my teens by psychedelic and lowbrow rock posters of Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band when artists like Stanley Mouse and Rick Griffin were vigorously working on silkscreens and offset lithographs in the 1960s and 70s.

The hand printed silk posters smell like ink when you bring your face close to them. The fact that you can use your hands to print silkscreen posters still fascinates me.

Along with the silkscreen posters, we also made long sleeve T-shirts.

It's still hot these days, but I hope this will be received as a seasonal greeting for the upcoming autumn and winter.
